What to Expect
You'll be looked after by Tamara, founder of The Blackmarket, in a relaxed, welcoming and judgement-free environment.
We'll start with a quick chat about what you're looking for—whether that's everyday confidence, a special occasion, a gift, or simply finding styles that suit you better.
From there, you'll move into a private fitting area with a full-length mirror and good lighting, where you can try pieces on properly and take your time.
Together, we'll:
- Find the right size and fit
- Explore styles that suit your body and preferences
- Discover colours, fabrics and details you'll feel great wearing
- Answer any questions about fit, comfort and styling
Tamara will bring pieces to you, make fit suggestions and show you how to wear styles properly—from adjusting straps to styling garters and getting the best fit from each piece.
It's not just about trying lingerie on—it's about understanding what actually works for you.
You’re also welcome to bring a partner or friend — many customers do, sometimes as part of a gift or surprise. It often makes the experience more relaxed and helps with choosing something together.

Not at all. Many customers book specifically because they're unsure about sizing. We'll help you work out what fits best during your appointment.
Yes, the Studio is a purpose built addition, adjacent to the main house, casual but private. There is a large mirror, privacy screen. Toilet facilities are available - however, they are in the main house.
There are full Eftpos facilities available - most major credit cards and debit cards are accepted. We can accept cash. If you would like to use Afterpay, Klarno, ZipPay or PayPal this can be arranged in store.
No. The appointment is designed to help you explore styles, understand sizing and try pieces on properly. You're welcome to purchase on the day, but there's no obligation.
As per hygiene laws it is essential that you wear briefs underneath our items when trying. We ask that you limit your makeup, any lotions and do not use tanning products 24 hours before coming to avoid marking any of the items. You are welcome to bring any outfits, shoes or accessories for styling.
Tamara, The Blackmarket Lingerie owner and mastermind will be there to assist you with styles, correct sizing and fitting and recommendations.
Each appointment is 45 minutes, which should allow ample time for you to try a number of sets. If there are additional guests that are also trying - please let me know and we can extend the appointment time.
We keep all of our stock on site at the Studio, so anything that you see on the website will be available for your appointment. Please be aware though - it is a dynamic environment and we have limited numbers in each size - these may be sold through the website before your appointment. Stockings are not available for trying.
Yes! We are more than happy for you to bring someone with you. We do ask that the group is limited to three maximum - it's a small space. Please do not bring any pets with you however, as we have two dogs of our own. (They do not have access to the Studio).
Yes there is free parking available on the street.
Yes, there is access to the Studio for all abilities, however the toilet facilities are located up some stairs in the. main building.
No smoking or vaping on the premises please, or just before entering. There are several asthmatics at the property. Thank you for your understanding.
