The Essential Guide to Caring for Your Blackmarket Lingerie

Washing and Drying your Lingerie

Hand Wash vs. Machine Wash: Always hand wash your lingerie whenever possible to prevent damage from harsh detergents and agitation in the washing machine. If you must use a machine, place your lingerie in a mesh lingerie bag and use a gentle cycle with cold water.

Use Mild Detergent: Choose a lingerie-specific detergent or a mild, pH-neutral soap to clean your lingerie. Avoid using bleach or harsh chemicals, as they can damage delicate fabrics and lace.

Gentle Washing Technique: Fill a basin with lukewarm water and add a small amount of detergent. Gently agitate the water to create suds, then submerge your lingerie and lightly massage the fabric to remove dirt and oils. Rinse thoroughly with cool water until no soap residue remains.

Air Dry: Avoid using a dryer to dry your lingerie, as the heat can cause shrinkage and damage delicate fabrics. Instead, lay your lingerie flat on a clean towel or hang it to air dry in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight.

Best Storage Practices

Separate Delicates: Keep your lingerie separate from other clothing items to prevent snagging and stretching. Consider using a designated lingerie drawer or storage box to keep your pieces organized and protected.

Avoid Folding Bras: Bras should be stored flat or upright to maintain their shape. Avoid folding bras in half, as this can cause the cups to lose their shape over time. Panties and other lingerie pieces can be folded neatly and stored in drawers.

Use Drawer Dividers: Consider using drawer dividers or organizers to keep your lingerie drawer tidy and prevent pieces from getting tangled or misplaced. This will also make it easier to find the perfect piece for any occasion.

Maintaining your Collection

Rotate Your Lingerie: Rotate your lingerie collection regularly to ensure that all pieces are worn evenly. This will help prevent certain pieces from becoming worn out or stretched while others remain in pristine condition.

Check for Damage: Inspect your lingerie regularly for signs of wear and tear, such as loose threads, stretched elastic, or fading colors. Repair any damage promptly to prevent further deterioration and prolong the lifespan of your lingerie.
